Volunteer Opportunities to Help Animals in MA
May 1, 2009—The GREY2K USA office in Somerville, MA is in significant need of help with a major data entry project, as well as another project involving researching dog tracks and dog racing. The first project can be done at home, after training. The second project would require your presence in the Davis Square office. Multiple volunteers are needed for each project, which will be the key to ending dog racing in more states. Call 617-666-3526 to volunteer.
Alliance for Animals—Cat adoption center, low cost spay/neuter clinic.
Animal Legal Defense Fund—Lawyers, law students, and legal professionals—work on animal law and anti-cruelty issues.
Boston Vegetarian Society—Education, outreach, and community support for compassionate living.
Great Ape Project—Work to "...include the nonhuman great apes within the community of equals by granting them the basic moral and legal protection that only human beings currently enjoy."
GREY2KUSA—Ban greyhound racing.
Local animal shelters and rescue/adoption groups. Find them listed by state at PetFinder.com.
Mass. Animal Coalition (MAC)—Companion animal programs.
